Twenty Pounds of Kale

As the weather heats up one of my favorite midday activities is to take a walk out to the Farm and check out what Sam has growing. It's a beautiful thing to walk from my office through the kitchen making soup, the pastry tables making cakes, and the bread department hand shaping loaves to right out back where we have lettuce, kale, mint, basil, and tomatoes growing.

Just yesterday in my conversation with Sam he told me he had harvested 20 pounds of kale! That's 20 pounds of kale for our soups grown right here in our own backyard! Farm to bowl has never been more true. We are excited to see where the rest of summer takes us as we look forward to more harvests and more vegetables such as delicious tomatoes in August.
