St. Patrick's Day!
From inside our kitchen and down to our urban farm, we’re thinking green this month at Atwater’s! March 17th is just around the corner and if you’re looking for a family-friendly way to celebrate this Irish holiday, stop by Atwater’s for some traditional Irish food and desserts!
Both sides of the kitchen are hard at work preparing sweet and savory takes on all things St. Patrick’s Day. On the savory side, we’ll be serving our Colcannon Soup and our new Shepherd’s Pie! Colcannon Soup is an authentic Irish food made from our handmade chicken stock, corned beef, potatoes, and green cabbage. This hearty soup will be available in meat and vegetarian options at all Atwater’s locations on March 16th and 17th, so be sure to stop by to try this tasty Irish dish!
Of course you can’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without taking a bite into a juicy reuben sandwich. Our Corned Beef Reuben is served with 1st Cut corned beef and is grilled to melty perfection with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing on our handmade Irish Brown bread. For our plant-based eaters, we also have our Vegetarian Reuben so you don’t have to miss out on all of the St. Paddy’s Day flavor! This vegetarian Irish food is made with butternut squash, sauerkraut, Thousand Island cream cheese, and pickled jalapeños for an extra flavorful kick!
New to the menu, our Shepherd’s Pie starts with Liberty Delight Farms beef and braised root vegetables then topped with fluffy mashed potatoes and wrapped in a savory pie crust. It makes a perfect meal for lunch or dinner! As for breakfast, don’t forget to pick up a loaf of our Irish Soda Bread. This essential St. Patrick’s Day delicacy has been made from a few simple ingredients since the 19th century. Our Irish Soda Bread includes orange zest, currants, golden raisins, and caraway seeds and is best served warm with butter.
Now let’s take a step to the sweet side with our St. Patrick’s Day desserts. If you’ve been waiting all year long for our Chocolate Stout Cupcakes, then you’re in luck! This decadent dessert is made with Guinness Stout Beer, adding a rich and intense flavor to the cupcake and finished with our mocha icing. And don’t forget about our Gold Coin and Shamrock Sprinkledoodles! Each cookie is topped with yellow and green sprinkles so it’s just like bringing home your very own sweet pot of gold.
As for St. Patty’s Day drinks, our Kenilworth location is serving a special white chocolate, vanilla & mint latte for the entire month of March! Since St. Patrick’s day 2019 falls on a Sunday, why not spend the holiday relaxing with a warm latte, a cup of Colcannon Soup, and a Chocolate Stout Cupcake? Now those are three delicious reasons to celebrate this Saint Patrick’s Day!
Things are also looking green down at The Big Kitchen Farm! All winter long our farmer, Anthony, has been hard at work harvesting the greens found on your salads, sandwiches, and in your soups!
Whether you’re looking for something healthy, hearty, or sweet, we have everything you need to get in the spirit of St. Paddy’s Day!
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon you face
& Most of all…have a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
